What is an ebook?

An e-book ("electronic book", but also "ebook") is the digital media equivalent of a conventional printed book. This "ebook" document can be read either on a computer or on a dedicated hardware device known as a reader e-books.

Drawbacks:
-- It is clearly necessary to read an ebook on an electronic device (a PC, for example) to receive and allow playback. Moreover, we must also install the necessary software allowing decryption and reading the ebook. (This software is generally free)
-- Certain publihers attach to the books they sell Restricted Transfer Rights from one device to another, which prevents duplication free but certainly, the change of personal device to another one.
-- Indeed, for the publisher, there is a risk in the sense that his ebook can be easily hacked or distributed without the permission of the publisher. For the ease with which electronic documents can be copied means that if a single document is not protected, it can be used to reproduce an unlimited number of perfect copies.

The e-books corresponding to existing books already published in the past, are produced by scanning physical documents, sometimes with the use of automated scanners with the technology to quickly scan the books without damaging the original.
